Rauhnacht 7: July, Crossing the Threshold
The seventh night is the turning point, the middle of the twelve and the moment the calendar flips. It stands for July, the month of summer and open windows. In many families it is a night for gathering, for noise and for fireworks.
If a loud night is not your style, you can still mark it quietly. Take a moment before midnight to look back, then a moment after to look ahead. A threshold is a good place to pause. You have one foot in the old year, one in the new, and plenty of reasons to be proud of both.
🕯️ Tonight’s ritual
Before midnight, write down three things you are grateful for from the year behind you. After midnight, write down three things you look forward to. Read both lists out loud, even if only to the cat.
✍️ Question for your notebook
What am I proud of from this year, and what do I want to carry into the next?
